The route starts with the building’s operating hours and the places that need repeated attention. A busy reception area, a shared break room and a restroom serving several tenants may each need a different check-in schedule.
Define the rounds.

Write down the locations and planned times for rounds. Define how the porter receives a call-out and which duties take priority when a spill interrupts the route.

When both services are needed, specify the handoff. A daytime issue may need immediate spot cleaning and a more thorough treatment on the night route. Agree on where that request is recorded and who checks it.

Confirm shift hours, access permissions and supply storage. Identify the person who can authorize a change to the route and the contact for problems outside the cleaning scope.
A porter may notice a leak or a damaged fixture during a round. Decide how those observations reach your building team. Repair work and security responsibilities need their own arrangements.
