Day porter services
in San Francisco.

Cleaning support during your building’s operating hours. Set a route for restroom checks and lobby upkeep, with a clear process for the requests that arrive between rounds.

During business hours

Keep up with
the working day.

A day porter provides cleaning attention while a building is occupied. Continental scopes daytime routes for lobbies, restrooms and common areas in San Francisco and the Bay Area.

The route starts with the building’s operating hours and the places that need repeated attention. A busy reception area, a shared break room and a restroom serving several tenants may each need a different check-in schedule.

The route

Define the rounds.

  • Restroom checks, spot cleaning and agreed supply replenishment
  • Lobby and entrance upkeep, including visible glass
  • Common-area waste and recycling checks
  • Spill response and cleaning requests within the agreed scope

Write down the locations and planned times for rounds. Define how the porter receives a call-out and which duties take priority when a spill interrupts the route.

Day and night

Two service periods.
One building plan.

Day porter work maintains designated areas during occupancy. Nightly office cleaning handles the scheduled work after hours, when rooms and floors are easier to access.

When both services are needed, specify the handoff. A daytime issue may need immediate spot cleaning and a more thorough treatment on the night route. Agree on where that request is recorded and who checks it.

Before the first shift

Give the porter
a workable brief.

Confirm shift hours, access permissions and supply storage. Identify the person who can authorize a change to the route and the contact for problems outside the cleaning scope.

A porter may notice a leak or a damaged fixture during a round. Decide how those observations reach your building team. Repair work and security responsibilities need their own arrangements.

Coverage and pricing

Scope the hours
you need.

Porter coverage is quoted around the agreed hours and tasks. Building size matters, but so does the volume of people using the entrances and restrooms during the shift.

Bring your opening hours, busy periods and current pain points to the walk-through. If you already have nightly cleaning, share that scope so daytime coverage addresses the gaps. Our cleaning cost guide explains how to compare the service periods in a quote.
